Battery Certification Support
Certification planning starts with intended use, product configuration and destination market. YC supports customers in identifying potentially applicable requirements, preparing coordinated technical information and managing samples and design changes. The exact scope and acceptance route vary by battery, host product and market.

Determine applicable requirements
YC reviews the intended use, battery construction, charger relationship, host product, transport needs and target markets to help map relevant standards and regulatory pathways. Examples may include UN 38.3, IEC 62133, CE, UKCA or UL-related requirements, but these references are not universal and do not imply that YC or a specific product already holds certification. Applicability, test scope, documentation and responsible parties depend on the final configuration, market rules and the appointed laboratory or conformity route.
Documentation, sample & test coordination
Support can include organizing specifications, drawings, cell and BMS information, labels, bills of material, risk records and other technical inputs requested for the applicable process. Sample configuration, quantity, preparation and identification are coordinated with the agreed plan, while test schedules and questions are tracked among the customer, YC and external service providers where involved. This structured approach helps reduce mismatched samples, incomplete files and unclear ownership without promising a predetermined outcome or timeline.
Design-change control
Certification-related evidence applies to a defined design and configuration. YC records relevant components, drawings, firmware or protection settings and evaluates proposed changes for possible impact on existing plans or evidence. Substitutions, layout adjustments, enclosure modifications and process changes may require technical review, updated documentation or additional testing depending on scope. Maintaining this connection between the approved baseline and production configuration supports clearer decisions throughout sourcing, manufacturing and lifecycle management.
YC provides certification planning and support. Applicable standards, evidence and approval routes are determined by the product, intended use and target market.
