YC CAPABILITIES

Design & Development

YC develops custom battery systems as integrated products rather than isolated components. Electrical architecture, control logic, interfaces, packaging and heat flow are advanced together, turning an agreed concept into a design that can be prototyped, reviewed, validated and transferred to controlled manufacturing.

Custom battery electrical and mechanical design development
01

Electrical architecture

Engineering begins with the voltage window, energy and power profile, charge strategy and operating environment established during definition. YC develops the cell arrangement, conductor and interconnect approach, current paths, fusing and protection concept around those inputs. Component selection considers electrical stress, thermal behavior, packaging constraints and production repeatability. Design reviews connect calculations and schematics with measurable requirements, so trade-offs between runtime, peak power, size, weight and service life remain visible as the architecture matures.

02

BMS & interfaces

The BMS strategy is developed around required monitoring, protection, balancing, state estimation and host-system behavior. YC defines sensing points, protection thresholds, wake and sleep logic, charging controls and communication requirements, then aligns connectors, pin definitions and protocols with the customer interface. CAN, UART or other communication choices are treated as application-dependent rather than assumed. Diagnostic access, fault responses and firmware-related requirements are documented early, helping electrical, software and system teams evaluate integration behavior before the design is frozen.

03

Mechanical, thermal & prototyping

Enclosure, mounting, sealing, insulation, shock paths and service access are developed alongside heat generation and dissipation. Material choices and assembly features are reviewed for tolerance, joining, inspection and repeatability, not simply for prototype appearance. Physical builds support fit checks, interface reviews and targeted learning before broader verification. Findings are fed back into drawings, specifications and process assumptions, moving the program from concept toward a manufacturable design without imposing an artificial fixed development duration.
